IAMAI’s E-Business Summit 2006 “Driving the Next Round of Growth” held at ITC Grand Central in Mumbai addressed the challenges and opportunities that online businesses are likely to face in the future. It also served as an information platform   for individuals and business that want to venture into online waters but lack sufficient knowledge or are unsure of the risks involved.

Stalwarts within the industry like Avnish Bajaj, Vice Chairman, IAMAI & Chairman, eBay India, Belson Coutinho, Head of E-Commerce & Distribution, Jet Airways, Janakiraman Murugavel, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Bharatmatrimony.com, Satya Prabhakar, President & Chief Executive Officer, Sulekha.com, Sanjeev Bikchandani, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Info Edge, Manish Agarwal, Vice President, Marketing, Rediff.com addressed some of the different issues within the eCommerce industry.

One of the key speakers, Mr. Vishwas Patel the CEO of Avenues the largest integrated eCommerce Company in South-Asia captured the attention of both the delegates and the press. He gave a rousing speech on ‘Payment Options for Small Businesses’. During his presentation, he illuminated the key factors that are stunting the growth of the Indian eCommerce industry as compared to international markets such as the US. He also offered solutions and suggestions that all the players need to address in order for the Indian market to develop.
