CCAvenue Payment Link sent via email/SMS sees a huge uptake among SMEs post demonetization
15th November, 2016
As India feels the impact of the demonetization of the Rs 500 & Rs 1000 currency notes, not only are the end consumers grappling with a huge cash crunch, but also small and medium businesses are struggling to run their daily operations due to low availability or absence of cash. In 2001, CCAvenue had developed an incredible solution allowing merchants to accept payments digitally via a simple payment link without a swipe machine. Post demonetization, CCAvenue has seen a huge uptake on the payment link solution to enable digital payments. Many cash-on-delivery orders are also being routed to this payment link.

Merchants can create a simple or an itemized digital invoice and send it as a payment link to their customers on their Email or SMS instantly. The customer can then open this link on their own device and complete the payment with options of Credit Card, Debit Card, Net banking, Wallet, UPI and many more to choose from.

Many individuals/small businesses have now started accepting e-payments through the CCAvenue Payment Link, giving them the flexibility to collect payments through a wide range of payment methods and staying relevant with the changing times. This unique opportunity has also changed the consumer behavior and is a huge positive in the movement towards transforming our country from a cash-driven economy to a cashless economy.

Further commenting on the Payment Link solution, Mohan Nair, Chief Marketing Officer, CCAvenue said, "At CCAvenue, we are committed to developing innovative FinTech solutions that enable rapid business growth for our merchants. Post the demonetization announcement, there has been a huge uptake on the use of our 'Payment Link' solution. We have observed a remarkable growth in the transaction volumes and a 40% increase in new signups. We are affirmative that this solution will help our merchants overcome their current challenges and operate without any loss of business and opportunities."

With an aim to enable offline businesses to go digital and start accepting online payments as quickly as possible, CCAvenue has introduced the 1-hour activation and onboarding process. Additionally, CCAvenue offers a fully customizable Store Front for those merchants who do not have a website. Merchants can create a beautiful online store without any technical or design expertise. These innovative solutions not only provide immediate relief to thousands of small businesses caught off guard because of the demonetization, but will also encourage our nation to adapt to online payments and reduce the dependency on cash transactions.
